GraphicVision
leverages the power and functionality of existing commercial off the
shelf (COTS) software products to deliver custom graphic information
solutions. The product that started it all was Autodesk's AutoCAD. The
partners at GraphicVision have worked with AutoCAD since 1984, building
upon that product's many application programming interfaces (APIs).
GraphicVision is an Authorized Business Partner of Autodesk Inc.
As AutoCAD expanded in functionality and capabilities, so too did
GraphicVision's vision of an expanded graphics environment. In the late
1980's the GraphicVision partners were among the first developers to
utilize AutoCAD in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This expansion
in the scope of AutoCAD included dynamic connections to ORACLE
databases, which lead the way for development of the AutoCAD Data
Extension (ADE).
The marriage of AutoCAD and databases became the focus of GraphicVision
in the early 1990s, with the addition of Sybase and MS SQL Server
databases. GraphicVision is currently a business partner with ORACLE,
Sybase and Microsoft, with emphasis on their database products.
In the mid-1990s, GraphicVision began working with the ARCHIBUS/FM
computer-aided facility management (CAFM) product. ARCHIBUS/FM brought
an elegant interface to the AutoCAD/database hybrid environment. Over
the past ten years, GraphicVision has implemented ARCHIBUS/FM for
clients such as Denver Public Schools, Ball Aerospace and Los Alamos National
Laboratory. GraphicVision is an Authorized ARCHIBUS/FM Developer.
In the late 1990s, it was evident to GraphicVision that the web
environment provided flexibility in application deployment, and that it
was the development platform of the future. In both its work with ARCHIBUS/FM, and in the development of its own product, ScheduleFM,
GraphicVision utilized the Cold Fusion, Flash and Java programming
languages. The introduction of web-enabled AutoCAD drawing, with
embedded hyperlinks, opened the door for GraphicVision to provide total
graphical information systems utilizing the web browser interface.
GraphicVision is an Authorized Business Partner of Adobe, the
developer of Cold Fusion and Flash.
In 1998, GraphicVision began development of ScheduleFM as a full application. ScheduleFM is the
consolidation of the AutoCAD, database, GIS and web environment
experience GraphicVision had acquired over the years. This facility
scheduling application broke the mold for scheduling software, providing
higher education, K-12 school districts, corporations and parks and recreation
organizations with expanded scheduling capabilities, dynamic
graphics, integrated billing and an open API.
The popularity of ScheduleFM has increased steadily over the last few
years, and the application continues grow and mature. GraphicVision's
total focus is now on ScheduleFM, with continuing education in all of
its supporting products. ScheduleFM can integrate seamlessly with a CAFM
product like ARCHIBUS/FM, or a GIS product like ARCView. GraphicVision
is an Authorized ESRI Developer.
Graphic information systems, like ScheduleFM, provide graphical
interfaces to non-graphical data. Pictures tell a thousand words, and
with the constant barrage of information, people need a way of filtering
data into bits they can easily absorb. GraphicVision's graphic
information systems make that happen.
